CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Mount Union is currently 10th in the nation in the 2013-14 Learfield Sports Directors Cup NCAA Division III standings after the fall sports season. The Purple Raiders are the highest ranked NCAA Division III team in Ohio.
The award administered by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) ranks athletic departments based on their national team finishes.
The Mount Union football team advanced to the national championship game -- Stagg Bowl for a 17th time, the women's volleyball team advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament before falling in a thrilling five-set match to eventual national champion Calvin (Mich.) while three members of the cross country teams ran at the NCAA Championships.
