CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Mount Union is ninth in the nation in the latest 2012-13 Learfield Sports Directors Cup NCAA Division III standings.
The award administered by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) ranks athletic departments based on their national team finishes.
The Purple Raiders are the highest ranked NCAA Division III team in Ohio and have four teams so far this season that have national team finishes -- as football won the national championship and volleyball advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in the fall while in the winter women's indoor track & field finished ninth in the nation while the men's indoor track & field team placed 13th.
