The University of Mount Union hosts the Jim Wuske Indoor Track & Field Invitational Saturday at 11 am at Peterson Fieldhouse on campus.

Jim Wuske brought Mount Union’s cross country and track teams to national prominence in his 24 years of coaching.  A total of 36 athletes received 59 All-America citations under his coaching.  He coached 60 individual OAC outdoor champions and 56 indoor champions in track and field.  In 1977-78, Mount Union became the first school in the history in the OAC to sweep the conference team championships in cross country, indoor and outdoor track in the same year.

In 1974, Wuske coached Mount Union’s cross country team to the NCAA Division III Championship, and was named national coach of the year.
