Jim Vogelgesang pitched and played first base for Mount Union over a four-year span from 1954 to 1957. He set nearly all Mount Union pitching records and most still stand today. During his career, Vogelgesang appeared in 40 games and compiled a record of 30 wins and seven defeats. Of the 38 games he started, he completed 35. During his senior year, Vogelgesang put together a record of 8-1, struck out 101 batters and had a 0.78 earned run average.
