Rules 

Playing Dimensions

·         Net Height: 8 feet

Teams

·         6 players on the court per team

·         Can play with 4 if needed

Equipment

·         Dangling jewelry is not permitted

·         Billed hats are not permitted

·         A guard, brace or cast made of hard material is not permitted to be worn from the elbow down to the finger

Pregame

·         A coin toss determines who will serve, receive, and what side of the court teams will be on

Serving

·         The server must be in the back right position of the court

·         The server bust serve the ball with both feet behind the boundary

·         The server continues to serve until their team loses a point

-   Once point is lost, the other team is awarded the serve

·         Can be served overhand, underhand or sidearm

·         All members on the court must be in there respective positions before the serve

·         If serve does not make it over the net,  a point is lost and other team is awarded serve

·         A serve can not be blocked by the opposing team

·         Server has 5 seconds to serve or team loses serve

Game Rules

·         Team must rotate clockwise when receiving the serve after a side out

·         A ball hit into the net, not on a serve, can be hit by a player

·         Player can not hit the ball twice in a row during play

-   The exception is if the first hit was a block

·         A team must return the ball across the net with 3 or fewer shots

-   A block does not count as a shot

·         If a ball hits the boundary line, it is considered in

·         Each team has two 1 minutes timeouts

Substitutions

·         May occur whenever the ball is dead

·         Unlimited

Violations

·         Serving illegally or out of turn

·         Stepping over the centerline and into the opponents court

·         Contacting the ball twice in a row

·         Using more than 3 shots to return the ball to the other team

·         Not clearly hitting the ball

-   Throwing, lifting, or changing the direction of the ball

·         Reaching over or touching the net

·         Blocking the serve

·         Interfering with an opponent

·         Catching or holding the ball while playing it

Time

·         Matches can not go longer than 50 minutes

-  The team leading after 50 minutes wins that game

~  If this produces a tie in games won, then total points will be used to determine who wins the match

Scoring

·         Play to 20 points

·         25 point cap

-   Maximum amount of points a game is allowed to be played to

·         First to win 2 of 3 games

·         Rally Scoring

Either team can score a point on a service
