Greg Ferrell Named Academic All-OAC Baseball

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio -- Mount Union senior Greg Ferrell (Uniontown/Green) has been named Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference Baseball by the conference's 10 faculty athletics representatives.

Ferrell recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in business administration with a 3.26 grade point average.  On the field, Ferrell was a four-time All-OAC centerfielder, who this season he led the team with a .404 batting average, seven home runs and three triples along with 25 RBI, six doubles and 11 stolen bases. The 2008 national gold glove centerfielder committed just one error in his last 249 chances dating back to the 2009 season.

In order to be selected Academic All-OAC, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.25 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key reserve.

Mount Union posted a 17-20 overall record, finished third in the OAC and made it back to the OAC Tournament for the first time since 2008.
