Mount Union plays in final eight regular season baseball games all on the road starting Saturday at 1 pm with an Ohio Athletic Conference series at Heidelberg in Tiffin.

The Purple Raiders are on a conference-best four-game winning streak, are 16-11 overall and alone in fourth place in the OAC at 7-5.  

Mount Union is third in the OAC in hitting with a .312 batting average and led by the 1-2 punch of Anthony Morino (Strongsville/Strongsville) and Evan Knott (Canton/GlenOak), who are No. 7 and No. 8 in hitting in the conference respectively.  Morino is hitting .419 with 10 doubles and 24 RBI while Knott is hitting .404 with eight doubles, four triples and 21 RBI.

Zach Carlino (Pittsburgh, Pa./Central Catholic) had his league leaging fourth complete game this past week.  Carlino is among the league leaders with a 6-1 record, 2.33 earned run average and 38 strikeouts.  Tom Bekelesky (Akron/Firestone) -- 1-1, 5.40 ERA and Matt Murzynski (Mentor/Lake Catholic) -- 2-3, 5.01 ERA are scheduled to start Saturday.

Heidelberg enters the series at 16-13 and two games behind the Raiders in the OAC at 5-7. The Berg have split their last two series' against conference leaders Marietta and Baldwin Wallace.

The Student Princes are the OAC's best pitching staff with a 3.54 earned run average.  

Tyler Fruhwirth and Ryan Minteer have each made a team-best seven starts while reliever Teddy Lowe leads the OAC with 17 appearances.

Steven Morse tops the team with a .364 batting average as the Berg have nine different players with at least 10 runs batted in.

The teams played four times a year ago with Heidelberg winning three of the four meetings including two at the OAC Tournament.  The Berg has won eight of the last 10 meetings between the teams.

Mount Union plays a non-conference game next Tuesday, April 23 at 4 pm at Penn State-Behrend in Erie, Pa.
