Baseball: Bishops Blast Raiders with Big Inning

DELAWARE, Ohio -- Mount Union's baseball team suffered a 14-2 loss at Ohio Wesleyan in a non-conference game Tuesday in Delaware, Ohio.

The Purple Raiders are now 8-10 overall while Ohio Wesleyan in 9-2 overall.

The Bishops took a 4-0 lead with four runs in the bottom of the third.

Mount Union scored a run in the fourth on an RBI single from James Weber (Auburn, Ind./Garrett).

Ohio Wesleyan blew the game open with nine-run fourth to extend the lead to 13-1 and made it 14-1 with another run in the sixth.

The Raiders loaded the bases in the ninth and scored on an Ohio Wesleyan error for the 14-2 final.

Pete Munger went 6.0 innings to get the win on the mound for Ohio Wesleyan while Beau Taylor (Alliance/West Branch) went 3.0 innings to take the loss for the Raiders.

Mount Union returns home to host Thiel (Pa.) in a non-conference Wednesday, March 30 at 2 p.m. at 23rd Street Field in Alliance.
