HIRAM, Ohio -- Mount Union's baseball team scored a 7-0 shutout in game one then saw Hiram rally for a 3-2 win in game two in a pair of non-conference games Wednesday in Hiram.

The Purple Raiders saw its win streak end at four games with the loss in game two and are now 16-5 on the season while Hiram is 10-7 overall.

Mount Union busted game one open with a six-run third inning as Conner Koski (Mayfield Hts/Mayfield), Nick Piotrowki (Macedonia/Nordonia) and Jimmy Scott (Holland/Toledo St. John's) each had RBI singles while Kyle Spellman (Ravenna/Ravenna) drove in two runs on a single in the frame.

The Raiders tacked on another run in the seventh on a Joey Keleman (North Olmsted/North Olmsted) double.

Mitch McCristall (Mansfield/Ontario) went 5.0 innings on the mound striking out five to get the win while Mike Martin (Independence/Independence) and Darren Krolikowski (Independence/Independence) each threw a scoreless inning to preserve the shutout.

In the nightcap, Hiram scored three unanswered runs in the final three innings -- two in the bottom of the seventh -- to rally for the 3-2 win.

Billy Goodall (Canfield/South Range) went 3-for-4 as the Raiders had just seven hits.

Mount Union next plays an Ohio Athletic Conference doubleheader at Ohio Northern Saturday at 1 p.m. in Ada.
