Baseball: Raiders Tie Win Record With Split at #17 Washington & Jefferson

WASHINGTON, Pa. – Mount Union's baseball team split a pair of road games at No. 17 ranked Washington & Jefferson Tuesday in Washington, Pa.

The Purple Raiders (28-9) won the opener 13-7 to notch their 28th win of the season which matches the school single season record for wins as the 2012 team was 28-15. Washington & Jefferson (27-8) got a 5-0 shutout in the nightcap.

In the opener, Mount Union was down 4-1 before a seven-run fourth inning gave the Raiders the lead for good.

Nick Satovich (Pittsburgh. Pa./Plum) drove in three runs on a pair of hits, Billy Goodall (Canfield/South Range) had a pair of runs batted in and Conner Koski (Mayfield Hts./Mayfield) had a pair of hits including a two-run home run as the Raiders had 12 hits.

Mitch McCristall (Mansfield/Ontario) went 5.0 innings on the mound to get the win and go to 6-0 on the season.

Mount Union was held to just four hits in a 5-0 loss in game two as Washington & Jefferson pitcher Matt Heslin went the distance for the complete game win.

The Raiders wrap up the regular season Wednesday, May 3 at 4 p.m. hosting Pitt-Greensburg in a single nine-inning game at 23rd Street Field in Alliance.
