The University of Mount Union baseball team was named to the 2017-18 American Baseball Coaches Association Team Academic Excellence Award list.

Teams receive this award for recording a GPA over 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for the entire 2017-18 academic year. In NCAA Division III, 78 teams were honored and just two from the Ohio Athletic Conference.

To be honored, teams must meet the following criteria:

• • Must be a high school or college team
  • Head coach must be a current ABCA member
  • Team must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 on a 4.0 scale during the 2017-18 academic year

Mount Union finished the 2017-18 season with a 21-16 overall record and an even 9-9 in conference play.
