Baseball: Raiders Drop Home Finale to Wooster

ALLIANCE, Ohio -- Mount Union's baseball team dropped a non-conference matchup to no. 15 Wooster 9-7 in the home finale Monday at 23rd Street Field.

Mount Union drops to 20-13 overall while Wooster shifts to 22-8 overall with the win.

Nick Satovich (New Kensington, Pa. / Plum) registered two hits to headline the Purple Raider offense.

The Scots got on the board first in the opening frame with an RBI single to take a 1-0 lead.

The Raiders pushed across three in the second as Travis Wood (Hudson) belted a two-run home run to make the score 3-1.

Mount Union scored four in the fourth sparked by a two-RBI double from Nate Owen (Cranberry Twp., Pa. / Seneca Valley) extend the lead to 7-1.

Wooster struck for six runs in the eighth and later scored two in the ninth to go on to the 9-7 win.

The Raiders used seven pitchers in the game as Thomas Yuras (Mentor / Lake Catholic) went 1.0 innings of work in line for the loss.

Mount Union hits the road on Wednesday, May 1 to face Washington and Jefferson starting at 4:30 p.m. at Rose Memorial Park.
