No. 1 ranked Mount Union will host No. 15 ranked Johns Hopkins (Md.) University in an NCAA Division III Second Round Playoff Game Saturday at noon at Mount Union Stadium in Alliance, Ohio.
It will be the first meeting ever between the teams and first time Mount Union has taken on a team from the Centennial Conference.
Johns Hopkins is 10-1 overall and in the tournament after winning its fourth straight Centennial Conference title and its automatic bid. The Blue Jays are making their fourth trip to the NCAA Playoffs with all four appearances coming since 2005 including a run to the quarterfinals in 2009. Johns Hopkins has a 3-3 record in the playoffs including a 40-17 win last week over Washington & Jefferson (Pa.) in the first round.
Mount Union, ranked No. 1 in both the American Football Coaches Association and D3football.com rankings, is also ranked No. 1 in the NCAA North Region rankings which is used to determine seeding and at-large teams.
The Purple Raiders are 10-0 overall and one of 24 conference champions to claim an automatic bid as Mount Union won its 21st straight and 24th overall Ohio Athletic Conference championship with a 9-0 record.
Mount Union has a 74-13 record in NCAA Playoff games including a 72-14 win over Christopher Newport (Va.) last week in the first round. The Raiders have advanced to the Stagg Bowl 15 times and have won a record 10 National Championships.
The winner of this week's game takes on the winner of the Widener (Pa.) - Salisbury (Md.) in the national quarterfinals next Saturday, Dec. 1 at noon.
The national championship game -- the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl will be played Friday, Dec. 14 at 7 pm at Salem Stadium in Salem, Virginia.

All seats in Mount Union Stadium are reserved and no passes will be accepted. Tickets will be available at the gates Saturday when they open at 10:30 am
Pre-ordered tickets will be available for pickup on Friday from 12 pm - 2 pm in the lobby of the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex on campus and at the Will Call window at Mount Union Stadium on Saturday starting at 10:30 am.
