Mount Union Football To Host One-Day Prospect Camp & Kehres Youth Football Camp in Summer 2017

The University of Mount Union is hosting three One-Day Football Prospect Camps and the week-long Kehres Youth Football this coming summer. Information on both camps is below and online registration is at http://mountunion.prestosports.com/camps/camps-list

2017 One-Day Prospect Camps

  • The University of Mount Union is offering a chance for high school football players to get a feel for what it would be like to play college football with the One-Day Prospect Camps.
  • Campers will have the opportunity to interact with the Mount Union coaching staff in an instructional college practice type setting.  The camp will feature individual and group instructional periods along with an assesment period.

Camp Mission    

  • To provide upcoming high school football players the opportunity to see what is involved in a college football practice and gain valuable skills and lessons that they can carry forward into their senior seasons.
  • The camps feature a low athlete to coach ratio allowing for significant 1-on-1 attention.

Campers    

  • The camp is open to prospective student-athletes entering grades 10-12.

Sessions    

  • Sunday, May 21 - 2-6 pm
  • Sunday, June 4 - 2-6 pm
  • Sunday, June 18 - 2-6 pm
  • Registration for all sessions will take place at 2 pm in the Gulling Training Center behind the covered stands of Mount Union Stadium on campus. 
  • The camp will end by 6 pm.

What to Bring  

  • Molded cleats - NO METAL TIPPED CLEATS, Flat soled workout/running shoes
  • Quarterbacks, running backs and receivers are to bring a football marked with name and school

Camp Fees    

  • $50 per session
  • Includes a Mount Union Football T-shirt
  • $10 discount to children of Mount Union alumni

Camp Staff    

  • Larry Kehres built one of the most successful programs in college football history and the tradition continued with Vince Kehres in 2013. 
  • Over the last 30 seasons, Mount Union has won 27 Ohio Athletic Conference Championships while posting 24 undefeated regular seasons along with 12 NCAA Division III National Championships. 
  • Since 2000, the Purple Raiders have made 17 NCAA Playoff appearances while posting the most wins and best winning percentage in all of college football. 
  • The camp staff consists of Mount Union coaches along with current and former players. Coaches from other NCAA institutions will also be invited to attend.

2017 Kehres Youth Football Camp

  • The Mount Union football staff is in its 18th consecutive year of hosting residential football camps.  Our camps have earned the reputation of being excellent techinque camps and well organized.  Many of our campers are repeat attendees and many of our current players attended the camp.
  • All camp activities take place on Mount Union's beautiful 115-acre campus located on Route 62 in Alliance, Ohio.
  • Techniques and drills specific to each campers position will be worked on by a Mount Union position coach.  A major draw for these camps is the one-on-one interaction that campers get from coaches.
  • Camp instructional sessions are conducted on a FieldTurf surface in Mount Union Stadium or on one of the well manicured natural grass practice fields on campus.
  • Campers will enjoy recreation activities in the evening including open swimming, highlight videos, speakers while campers have the opportunity to buy pizza and sports drinks at the concession stand.

Campers    

  • The camps are open to all football players entering grades 2 to 9.  Campers will be divided into instruction groups based on age and skill level.  Younger campers will be housed together.

Camp Dates    

  • Mon, June 19 - Fri, June 23
  • Registration for all sessions begins at noon in the lobby of the King Residence Hall on campus. 
  • Camp begins at 2 pm on the first day and concludes at 11 am the final day.

Camp Fees    

  • Overnight - $395 | Commuter - $225
  • Team discounts available to groups of eight or more, please call for details.
  • Children of Mount Union alumni are eligible for a $25 discount.
  • The camp fees cover lodging, meals and a camp T-shirt for overnight campers.  Commuters receive lunches and dinners along with a T-shirt.
  • All registration will be done online
  • Full refunds will be provided if a camper is unable to attend.

Housing & Meals    

  • Campers will be housed two to a room within residence halls on the Mount Union campus.
  • Please indicate on your application if you have a roommate preference.  Athletes without a preference will be paired with someone near their age.
  • Meals for all sessions will be held in the dining facilities within the Hoover-Price Campus Center on campus.
  • The dining hall is all-you-can-eat and meals begin with dinner on the first day and conclude with breakfast on the final day.

What to Bring    

  • Athletic clothing (shorts, t-shirt, socks, etc.)
