Pro Football Hall of Fame to Host OAC Football Media Day Thursday July 27

The 2017 Ohio Athletic Conference Football Media Day will be held Thursday, July 27 at 10:30 a.m. at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.

Mount Union enters the season ranked either No. 1 or No. 2 in national preseason polls. In 2016, the Purple Raiders went 12-2 and advanced to the national semifinals for a 22nd year in a row.

At the media day, each of the OAC's 10 head coaches will give a preview of their team's upcoming season, while a student-athlete from each institution will take a couple of questions at the podium from conference commissioner Tim Gleason.

Vince Kehres, in his fifth year as a head coach, and senior wide receiver and team captain Braeden Friss (Avon/Avon) will represent Mount Union at the podium.

After lunch the conference's preseason media and coaches polls will be announced followed by coaches and players being made available for one-on-one interviews.

The OAC Bill Nichols Media Service Award named in honor of the long-time Cleveland Plain Dealer writer will also be presented to Tom Usher of the Lima News.

The Raiders first practice is Tuesday, August 8, photo day on campus is Thursday, August 17 at 9 a.m. and the annual preseason scrimmage against Washington & Jefferson (Pa.) is Thursday, August 24 at 6 p.m.

Members of the media should contact Lindsay Miller (lrickel@oac.org) for more information.
