WESTERVILLE, Ohio – No. 1 ranked Mount Union got 10 sacks and held Otterbein to minus-11 yards rushing in a 56-14 Ohio Athletic Conference win Saturday at Memorial Stadium in Westerville, Ohio.
Four of those sacks came from linebacker Trey Williams (Cardington / Cardington-Lincoln), who had seven total tackles, 5.0 for loss and forced a fumble as the Mount Union defense held Otterbein (1-4, 0-4 OAC) and 139 total yards.
On offense, D'Angelo Fulford (Miramar, Fla.) threw four touchdowns as he completed 16-of-21 passes for 203 yards, Justin Hill (Circleville) had seven catches for 100 yards with a touchdown and Josh Petruccelli (Perry) ran for 90 yards with a score on nine carries to pace a unit that finished with 460 yards.
Hill also had a 85-yard punt return for a score.
The Raiders scored on six of its seven first half possessions as Fulford threw touchdown passes to Hill, Luke Herrington (Wintersville / Steubenville) and Demarco Haynes (Miramar, Fla. / Chaminade-Madonna) with rushing scores from Josh Petruccelli (Perry) and Ernie Burkes (New Castle, Pa. / Neshannock).
Mount Union scored two more touchdowns in the second half as Herrington caught his second scoring pass and Matt Garcia (Phoenixville, Pa.) ran in a touchdown.
Mount Union (4-0, 3-0 OAC), now winners of 19-straight, return home to host Wilmington for homecoming next Saturday, Oct. 6 at 1:30 p.m. at Mount Union Stadium.
