The Matchup: No. 1 ranked Mount Union plays at Ohio Northern Saturday, Oct. 20 at 1:30 p.m. in an Ohio Athletic Conference game at Dial-Roberson Stadium in Ada.
Mount Union moved to 7-0 overall and 6-0 in the OAC after a 54-0 shutout of Heidelberg last week to extend the nation's longest active win streak to 22 games.
Andrew Roesch (Avon) had a sack and a safety to lead a defense that held Heidelberg to 24 first half yards on 23 plays as the Raiders built a 26-0 lead. Roesch finished with 2.0 sacks, 3.0 tackles for loss as Mount Union had 5.0 sacks.
Mount Union running back Josh Petruccelli (Perry) had his second-straight over 100-yard rushing performance as he chewed up 101 yards on 27 carries with two touchdowns to pace the offense.
Quarterback D'Angelo Fulford (Miramar, Fla.) completed 17-of-29 passes for 280 yards with touchdown passes to Jared Ruth (Indianapolis, Ind. / Pike) and Justin Hill (Circleville). Ruth finished with six catches for 102 yards.
Ohio Northern (5-2, 4-2 OAC) scored on seven of its first 10 possessions, then converted a key fourth down late in the game to hold on for a 49-46 victory last Saturday at Capital.
The Polar Bears rolled up 509 yards of offense and converted 9-of-14 third downs in the victory.
Junior Anthony McFadden completed 24-of-34 passes for a career-high 373 yards and four touchdowns and senior Chad Rex had career-highs of 12 catches and 175 yards and also scored two touchdowns for ONU.
Sophomore A.J. Marks ran 23 times for 100 yards and a score, freshman Brock Martin ran 11 times for 42 yards and a score and McFadden ran for a touchdown to lead the Ohio Northern offense.
The Series: This is the 61st meeting between the teams with Mount Union holding a 46-13-1 lead in the series that dates back to a 52-0 Mount Union win on Thanksgiving Day 1907. The Raiders have won 12-straight meetings after Ohio Northern's 21-14 win in 2005 in Alliance.
A year ago, Mount Union's defense forced three turnovers and scored a touchdown while holding the Polar Bears to just 214 yards in a 43-14 win.
Team Captains: Mount Union has five team captains in wide receivers Luke Herrrington (Wintersville/Steubenville) and Jared Ruth (Indianapolis, Ind./Pike), safety Nick Brish (Milford, Mich./Brighton), linebacker Danny Robinson (Massillon/Massillon Washington) and defensive back Louis Berry (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shady Side Academy).

The Raiders wrap-up the regular season at home against Marietta Saturday, Nov. 10 at at 1:30 p.m. at Mount Union Stadium.
Scouting the Polar Bears: Ohio Northern is 4th in the OAC in total offense (429.9 yards per game) and 6th in total defense (416.7 yards per game).
Junior quarterback Anthony McFadden is among OAC leaders averaging 227 yards passing per game with 17 touchdowns. His top target is senior wide receiver Chad Rex is second in the conference in receiving yards and touchdowns (57 rec, 698 yards, 7 TDs).
McFadden is also involved in the running game as he has 84 carries for 388 yards with a touchdown. The running backs include sophomore A.J. Marks (85 att, 557 yards, 4 TDs) and freshman Brock Martin (98 att, 490 yards, 10 TDs).
On defense, linebackers in juniors Mark Niles and David Haseleu along with sophomore safety Andrew Valenti lead the unit with 81, 63 and 46 tackles, respectively.
Defense Scores Again: Mount Union's defense picked up its first safety of the season on Heidelberg's first possession of the game.
The Raiders lead the nation with six defensive touchdowns this season.
Mount Union has seven non-offensive touchdowns as they also blocked a field goal and returned it for a score.
It Takes Two: Andrew Roesch (Avon) gave Mount Union two points as he tackled a Heidelberg running back in the end zone for a safety. He also had two sacks on the day. Roesch is second on the team this season with 7.0 tackles for loss to go along with 20 stops and 3.5 sacks.
Back-to-Back: Josh Petruccelli (Perry) had his second straight and third 100 yard rushing performance of the season last week with 101 yards on 27 carries against Heidelberg.
It was the sixth 100-yard game of his career and the 27 carries match a career-high which he had last year in a 27-carry, 132-yard performance at UW-Oshkosh.
Senior wide receiver Jared Ruth (Indianapolis, Ind. / Pike) also had six catches for 102 yards with a touchdown for back-to-back 100-yard receiving performances this season.
Ruth missed two games earlier this season but still leads the Raiders with eight touchdown catches this season.
Many Happy Returns: Justin Hill (Circleville) had his second punt return for a touchdown this season last week as he took one back 85 yards against Heidelberg.
The 85-yard return was just four yards from being the longest punt return in school history as former Raider Jasper Collins took one back 89 yards against Marietta in 2009.
Five From Five: D'Angelo Fulford (Miramar, Fla.) tossed two more touchdown passes last week to give him 76 for his career at Mount Union. The 76 passing touchdowns is sixth on the school's all-time list and five from the fifth place spot held by former Mount Union signal caller Greg Micheli (2005-08).
Taking a Loss: Junior Trey Williams (Cardington / Cardington-Lincoln) is second in the OAC with 13.0 tackles for loss. He leads Mount Union with 41 total tackles this season.
