Football: Mount Union's Daniel and Henwood Academic All-District

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Mount Union senior offensive lineman Frazier Daniel (Tiffin / Tiffin Columbian) and junior defensive back Luke Henwood (Sharpsville, Pa.) have both been named to the 2019 Academic All-District® Football Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Daniel has started all nine games so far this year at left guard and help lead an offense that is the nation's highest scoring team at 52.9 points per game that features the nation's highest rated quarterback along with a 1,000-yard running back and receiver. Daniel, who is an Accounting major with a 3.85 grade point average, was an Academic All-District and Academic All-America selection in 2017. He is a finalist for the Mayo Clinic Comeback Player of the Year and was a semifinalist for the Campbell Trophy presented by the National Football Foundation.

Henwood has played in all nine games so far this season as part of a defense that is the nation's No. 3 ranked total defense. He has 7.0 tackles with a fumble recovery and off the field has a 3.92 grade point average as an Exercise Science major.

The team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. The Academic All-America® honorees will be announced December 11.

The CoSIDA Academic All-District® teams includes student-athletes divided into geographic districts across the United States and Canada.

The Division III CoSIDA Academic All-America® programs is partially financially supported by NCAA Division III's national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2019-20 Division III Academic All-America® programs.
