WIVM-TV to Re-Broadcast Mount Union Football Games Saturday On TV & Online

WIVM-TV in Canton is going re-broadcast two classic Mount Union football games Saturday, March 21.

WIVM-TV is on channel 39 over the air, channel 989 on Spectrum cable in Stark County and online at WIVMTV.com. Fans can also add the LiveStream app on their smart TV and search for WIVM.

At 2 p.m., the station will broadcast the 2018 game between the then No. 1 ranked Purple Raiders and No. 15 ranked John Carroll. It was an early season matchup but featured a Mount Union team coming off the 2017 national title and a Blue Streak squad returning to Mount Union Stadium for the first time since a win there in 2016. Jeff Shreve and Harry Paidas are on the call.

At 8 p.m., the station will broadcast the 1993 national semifinal game between St. John's (Minn.) and Mount Union in Alliance. It was the first-time ever, the Raiders hosted a national semifinal game as they were trying to get to the Stagg Bowl for the first time. Hall of fame broadcaster Joe Tait and Harry Paidas are on the call.

In between the two Mount Union games, WIVM will broadcast a 1997 high school football playoff game between Canton McKinley and St. Ignatius with local sports broadcasting legend Jim Johnson on the call.
