Mount Union's men's basketball team (1-4) opens its Ohio Athletic Conference schedule, Saturday (Dec. 1) when it travels to Columbus to face defending Champions Capital, with tipoff scheduled for 2:00 p.m.

There will be a LIVE VIDEO internet broadcast and LIVE STATS.

The Purple Raiders will be playing their third of four consecutive road games, and in the early season, the road has been unkind as they have lost two straight and three of their last four.

In their last game, the Raiders were defeated by #20 Adrian 63-48.

Freshman Taylor Moore (North Canton/Hoover) hit a jump shot at the 15:05 mark to make the score 6-5, and despite going on a scoreless streak for the 5:06, the Raiders only found themselves down seven (16-9).

Freshman Cody Dillon (Newtown Falls/Newton Falls) made a layup at 7:40 of the first half to cut the Bulldogs lead to 5 making the score 18-13, but this was the closest the Raiders would get for the rest of the game.

Moore had a team-high 11 points, and freshman Evan Keeslar (Uniontown/Green) provided a great spark off the bench scoring a career/season high 10 points.

Sophomore Nate Jacubec (Struthers/Struthers) leads the Raiders in scoring with 14.2 points-per-game, which is ninth overall in the OAC.

Senior Matt Kiger (Williamstown, W. Va./Williamstown) has gone 18-26 (0.692) on field goals this season, which is tops in the conference.

Capital (2-4) has split its last two games with a win at Carnegie Mellon (64-63) and a loss in their last game against Ohio Wesleyan (64-53).

In last season's matchups, the Crusaders won both games against the Raiders, 75-69, and 63-49.

Senior Michael Sommer leads the Crusaders in scoring with 12.2 points-per-game, while teammate senior Spencer Niekamp averages a team-high 5.7 rebounds.

Last season, the Crusaders finished the season with a 19-10 overall record and went 13-5 in conference play, earning the second seed in the OAC tournament, and advancing to the finals where they defeated Wilmington 70-66.

They advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament, but were defeated by Wooster 92-79.
