GAME PREVIEW: Men's Basketball Travels To Muskingum Wednesday

Mount Union's men's basketball team (9-12, 7-7 OAC) travels to Muskingum (1-20, 0-14 OAC) for an Ohio Athletic Conference men's basketball matchup Wednesday at 7:30 pm in New Concord, Ohio.

A Mount Unon win clinches an OAC Tournament bid for the Purple Raiders, while eliminating the Muskies from post-season play.

The game will be broadcast LIVE on the radio on 1310 AM WDPN (Alliance) and simulcast online right here LIVE AUDIO.  There will also be a LIVE STATS feed of the game.

Mount Union snapped a two-game losing skid with a 93-65 rout of Otterbein last Saturday. The Purple Raiders are tied for fourth in the conference with Wilmington and John Carroll with four games remaning in the regular season.  Mount Union is third in the conference in scoring (76.7 ppg) with sophomore Nate Jacubec (Struthers/Struthers) leading the team at 15.1 points per game.  Jacubec also tops the conference in three-pointers made (60) and is among conference leaders in assists, steals and minutes played.

Muskingum has lost nine-straight games including an 86-79 loss last Saturday at Ohio Northern.  The Muskies are not only winless in the conference but have not won a home game this season as their lone win this season is a 73-62 win at Franciscan.  Muskingum has lost 10 straight home games dating back to last season, but the Muskies last home win was a 63-60 win against Mount Union on Feb. 1, 2012.

THE SERIES

Mount Union won the matchup with Muskingum earlier with a 91-69 victory in Alliance, but the Muskies have won eight of the last 10 meetings in the series.  The only other Raider win since 2007 was a 57-51 victory in New Concord on Dec. 22, 2010.
