MARIETTA, Ohio -- No. 23 ranked Mount Union fell at No. 8 ranked Marietta, 106-81, in an Ohio Athletic Conference men's basketball game Wednesday night in Marietta.
The Raiders are now 15-6 overall and 11-3 in the OAC, while Marietta improves to 20-2 overall and 14-1 in the OAC.
Marietta's Dillon Young scored a game-high 24 points as the Pioneers had four players in double figures and finished the game with 17 three-pointers.
In the first half, Mount Union would earn a three point lead, 11-8, within the first five minutes of the game. Ruffin would score seven points early to help gain that lead. Three pointers by Michael Shull (Massillon/Jackson) and Kukura extended that lead to seven, 17-10.
Marietta would regain the lead, 26-25, after solid three point shooting from Young would help the Pioneers go on a 16-8 run. The Pioneers shot 58.8-percent from the field and led 52-41 at halftime.
The Pioneers opened the second half on a 12-6 run and never looked back.
Mount Union is back in action on Saturday, Feb. 13 when the Raiders travel to Heidelberg. The game is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start in Tiffin.
