Men's Basketball: Ruffin Named All-OAC First Team; Four Raiders on All-Conference Teams

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio -- Mount Union senior forward Jarrett Ruffin was named All-Ohio Athletic Conference first team men's basketball and was one of four Purple Raiders recognized by the conference's 10 head coaches.

Ruffin is on the all-conference team for a third straight season after being a second team pick each of the last two seasons.  This season he started all 27 games and scored a team-high 416 points (15.4 ppg) and also led the team and was third in the conference rebounding (8.2 rpg).  Ruffin finishes his career with 1,409 points -- fifth best in school history, 706 rebounds with a school record 122 blocked shots.

It is the fourth year in a row Mount Union has had an All-OAC first team selection.

Sophomore wing J.J. Kukura (Alliance/Alliance) and senior guard Jake Jacubec (Struthers/Struthers) were both named to the All-OAC second team.

Kukura played in 23 games and averaged a team-best 17.2 points per game -- fifth best in the OAC and was second on the team in rebounding at 5.5 boards per game while Jacubec started all 27 games, averaged 13.4 points per game, made 59 three pointers and was sixth in the OAC with a team-high 85 assists.

Senior guard Cody Dillon (Newton Falls/Newton Falls) was an All-OAC honorable mention pick.

Dillon, who was also an All-OAC first team selection in 2014, played in all 27 games and averaged 10.4 points and 3.4 rebounds per game this season.  He finishes his career with 1,165 points with 206 made three pointers.

Mount Union went 18-9 this season and placed third in the OAC.
