Men's Basketball: Raiders Picked Fourth in OAC Preseason Coaches Poll

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Mount Union's men's basketball team was picked fourth in the Ohio Athletic Conference preseason coaches' poll that was announced Wednesday.

The Purple Raiders received 54 points in the poll which was five points behind third place Ohio Northern with 59 points. John Carroll tops the poll with 79 points and seven first place votes while the remaining three first place votes belong to Marietta in second with 75 points.

Entering his seventh season as head coach at Mount Union, Mike Fuline looks to the return of 11 letterwinners to contend in the OAC in 2018-19. The Purple Raiders have finished in the top five in the conference in each of the last six seasons including going 13-13 and 9-9 in the OAC a year ago.

Mount Union opens the season Friday, November 9 at 7 p.m. at Transylvania in Lexington, Kentucky.
