AUSTINTOWN, Ohio -- Three Mount Union men's basketball student-athletes junior Nathan Bower-Malone (Stow), senior Tommy Stenger (North Canton/Hoover) and freshman Collen Gurley (Akron/Hoban) all have earned All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors as selected by the conference's 10 head coaches.
Bower-Malone earned All-OAC first-team honors as he has started in all 27 games averaging 28.7 minutes per game while leading the team in scoring at 13.0 points per game. It marks the second time Bower-Malone has been named all-conference as he was an All-OAC honorable mention selection a year ago.
Stenger received All-OAC second team honors after being one of the Purple Raiders top scorers on the season. Stenger has started all 27 games averaging 12.3 points per game.
Gurley was selected All-OAC honorable mention and voted OAC Freshman of the Year as he has come off the bench in all 27 games and averaged 10.4 points per game.
Gurley joins Jarrett Ruffin in 2013 and Nate Jacubec in 2012 as OAC Freshman of the Year award winners from Mount Union.
The trio has helped lead Mount Union to a 22-5 record, the conference's regular season title and an appearance in the OAC Tournament title game which the Raiders will host against Baldwin Wallace Saturday, Feb. 23 at 7:30 p.m. at The MAAC.
