Mike Fuline recently finished his first season as head men's basketball coach at Mount Union.
In his first season in charge of the program, Fuline led the Purple Raiders to an 11-15 record overall and a 7-11 record in Ohio Athletic Conference play. Mount Union put together three three-game winning streaks during a season that ended with a loss in the first round of the OAC Tournament.
Senior Jimmy Wood was selected First Team All-OAC and Nate Jacubec was named OAC Freshman-of-the-Year during Fuline's first season.
Fuline came to Mount Union after spending last eight years as a head coach at Massillon Jackson (2005-11) and Rootstown (2003-05) high schools.
He was 95-42 (.693) in six years at Jackson, with a 76-19 (.800) mark over the last four seasons that also included winning the 2010 OHSAA Division I State championship. The Polar Bears have won each of the last two Federal League titles and he was named Federal League Coach of the Year both seasons.
At Rootstown, his 2003-04 team posted a 16-6 record and won a sectional championship while his 2004-05 team went 20-4, shared the league title and won a district championship. Fuline was named 2004 Ohio's Division III Co-Coach of the Year.
Fuline began his coaching career with assistant coaching stints at Ravenna and Green high schools.
A graduate of Akron Manchester High School, he holds a bachelor's degree from Kent State University and a master's degree from Walsh University.
He and his wife, Amy, are the proud parents of five
children.
Cole Pittis

Cole Pittis is in his first year of his second stint as an assistant men's basketball coach at Mount Union.
Pittis served a year on the Purple Raiders' staff from 2007-08 then went to The University of Akron where he spent three years on the men's basketball staff for the Zips.
He was a four-year letterwinner as a player at fellow Ohio Athletic Conference member Muskingum University from 2002-06. A 2006 All-OAC First Team and All-OAC Tournament team selection, Pittis also won the William G. Moore Outstanding Senior Male Athlete Award at Muskingum. After his playing days, he spent one season with the Muskies as an assistant coach.
The Claymont High School alum also holds a master's degree from Akron.

Mike Bluey is in his first year as an assistant men's basketball coach at Mount Union.
Bluey served as an assistant coach for Mount Union head coach Mike Fuline for seven years at both Rootstown and Massillon Jackson High Schools.
He also spent four years at Akron Springfield High School serving as the head coach for three seasons while also spending five years as an assistant coach at Kennedy Catholic High School in Sharon, Pa.
The Fairview, Pa. native, has a bachelor's degree in education from Youngstown State University, a master's degree from Marygrove (Mich.) College and is a Health, Physical Education and Career Intervention teacher at Tallmadge High School.

Dave Spires is in his first year as an assistant men's basketball coach at Mount Union.
For the last 12 years, Spires was an assistant boy's basketball coach at Boardman High School.
The Boardman, Ohio native, was a four-year letterwinner, two-time team captain at Washington & Jefferson (Pa.) College, where he led the Presidents in rebounding both his junior and senior seasons on his way to All-PAC Second Team honors.
He has a bachelor's degree in business administration from Washington & Jefferson and has spent the last 12 years as representative for Pfizer Pharmaceutical.
