Guerrieri Falls in Playoff at Malone Spring Classic; Three Raiders Finish in Top 10

ALLIANCE, Ohio--Mount Union junior Steve Guerrieri (Canton/Massillon Jackson) lost in a playoff to finish tied for second overall at the Malone Spring Classic at Tannenhauf Golf Club in Alliance.

After a first round 76, Guerrieri had a career-best 71 on Saturday's second round to finish with a 147 and tied with Kale Wasso of Davenport (MI) and Justin Lower of Malone.  Wasso then chipped in on the first playoff hole to take Medalist honors.

Next for the Purple Raiders, who entered the tournament as individuals, was junior Scott Miller (Wykoff, NJ/Ramapo) who missed the playoff by just one stroke as he had a 148 (76-72) to finish fourth and fellow junior Vincent Lorenzo (Broadview Hts/North Royalton) carded a 152 (77-75) to place 10th and round out the top performers.

Mount Union will compete next weekend at the Wooster Invitational at Wooster Country Club in Wooster, Ohio.
