Men’s Golf In Second Place After Round One Of Nye Intercollegiate; Lieser Shoots Low Round Of Day

WOOSTER, Ohio - - Mount Union's men's golf team finished the first round of the Nye Intercollegiate in second place held at Wooster Country Club.

The Purple Raiders totaled 312 strokes on the 6,545 par 72 layout which was four strokes behind first place Wittenberg (308). 

Jon Lieser (Minerva/Minerva) carded the low individual round of the day with a two over par 74. Two other Raiders finished in the top ten: Nick Popely (Painesville/Riverside) and Justin Schoen (Bellevue/Bellevue) both shot 78 which was tied for sixth place. 

The two-day event concludes tomorrow.
