Mount Union's Dan MacDuffie Named OAC Men's Golf Coach of the Year

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio -- University of Mount Union head men's golf coach Dan MacDuffie has been named Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Golf Coach of the Year.

It is the third time in his nine years as head coach that he has won the award (2008, 2011).

In MacDuffie's nine seasons as head coach of the men's program, the Purple Raiders have never finished worse than third in the OAC. He has led the Raiders to three OAC championships (2007, 2008, 2011) and won back-to-back conference titles for the first time in school history. The team placed second in 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2013.

MacDuffie has thrust the Raiders on to the national golf scene as the team finished 25th in 2007, 12th in 2008, and 20th in 2011 at the NCAA Men's Golf Championships. He also had an individual compete at the 2009 NCAA Men's Golf Championships.

The native of Portland, Maine, is also in his seventh year as head coach of the Mount Union women's golf team and was the 2012 OAC Women's Golf Coach of the Year.
