Men's Golf: Mount Union Finishes in Third Place at Gatorade Collegiate

DOVER, Ohio- The Mount Union Men's Golf Team concluded the Gatorade Collegiate tournament at Zoar Village Golf Course sitting in third place with a two-day total of 599.

The Purple Raiders turned in a team score of 297 for the final day of competition, five strokes better than the first round total. Mount Union finished four shots behind Allegheny College (Pa.), who finished second amongst the ten teams. After firing a 282 yesterday, Ohio Wesleyan kept control of the tournament with a 297 today to finish in first place at 579.

For the second day of competition, Mount Union was led by junior Matt Dudley (Canal Fulton/Northwest), who shot an even par 72, which helped him finish tied for 13th. Junior Buster Thomas (Cortland/Lakeview) carded a two-over par 74 yielding him a 12th place finish.

The Raiders host the Mount Union Invitational Sunday, September 11th and  Monday, September 12th at Alliance Country Club.
