Men's Golf: Mount Union Takes Second at Poppa Flowers Invitational

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio -- Mount Union's men's golf team took second place at the John Carroll Poppa Flowers Invitational after shooting a 468 in the 27-hole event at River Greens Golf Club. 

Seniors Buster Thomas (Cortland/Lakeview), Matt Dudley (Canal Fulton/Northwest) and junior Luke Engle (Zanesville/Maysville) all fired a 115 and tied for sixth on the day to lead the Purple Raiders.

Rounding out the five for the Raiders were freshman Jacob Feldner (Cambridge/Cambridge)who shot 124 and sophomore Matt Eddins (Louisville/Louisville) who shot 127 which tied for 23rd and 28th, respectively.

Freshman Anthony Graziano (Girard / Girard), in the tournament as an individual player, had the best finish of his young career as he placed second with a 109 which was only three shots behind Medalist Mike Furey of John Carroll.

The Raiders are back on the course October 15th and 16th in the Raider Invitational at Alliance Country Club.
