WOOSTER, Ohio -- Mount Union's men's golf team ended up tied for fourth at the rain shortened Nye Intercollegiate at Wooster Country Club.
The Purple Raiders and Baldwin Wallace both shot a 310 during Saturday's 18-hole round but Sunday's final 18-hole round was canceled due to rain and course conditions.
Mt. St. Joseph won the team title by one shot after its final player chipped in a birdie on hole No. 18 to score a 300 and edge out tournament host Wooster (301). Fellow Ohio Athletic Conference member John Carroll finished third with a 308. Mikel Merker of Mt. St. Jospeh and Jimmy Hinton of Wooster both shot even par scores of 72 to share medalist honors.
The Raiders next compete at the 2018 OAC Championships held May 27-29 at River Greens Golf Club in West Lafayette, Ohio.
