HINKLEY, Ohio -- Mount Union junior Matt Eddins (Louisville) had his second top-five finish of the year as he was fourth at the Baldwin Wallace Spring Invite Saturday at Pine Hills Golf Club.
Eddins, who was entered in the tournament as an individual, had a four-over par 76 to finish three strokes behind the 73 of medalist Brenton Franks of Muskingum.
The Purple Raiders had a team score of 319 which left them 15 shot back of the first place tie of Baldwin Wallace and John Carroll. BW won the event in a one-hole playoff while Muskingum was in third place with a 307.
The team score came from senior Andrew Thompson (New Albany), who had a 78 to finish in a tie for 11th while fellow seniors Sean Croell (Newton Falls) and Luke Engle (Zanesville / Maysville) each carded an 80 while senior Tyler Ellis (Berea / Berea-Midpark) and sophomore Jacob Feldner (Cambridge) both had 81.
The Raiders are back on the course next Friday and Saturday at the OAC Spring Invitational at Hudson Country Club in Hudson, Ohio.
