Men's Lacrosse: Raiders Run Out to Big Lead to Beat BW; Mount Union to Play For Inaugural OAC Title Saturday

ALLIANCE, Ohio -- Mount Union's men's lacrosse team jumped out to a 7-1 lead then held on for a 10-5 win against Baldwin Wallace in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup at Mount Union Stadium in Alliance.

The Purple Raiders have won 11-straight games to sit at 12-3 overall and at 4-0 in the OAC need a win at Otterbein Saturday at 2 pm in the regular season finale to claim the first-ever OAC regular season title.

The win also secured that Mount Union will be no worse than the No. 2 seed in next week's OAC Tournament and host a semifinal game on either next Tuesday or Wednesday at 4 pm.

Toren Moore (Columbus/Hilliard Darby) had a game-high four points (3 goals, 1 assist) to lead Mount Union on offense while Andrew Rosati (Streetsboro/Walsh Jesuit) had five ground balls and goalkeeper Collin Peters (Portland, Ore./Sunset) had 11 saves for the Raiders.

Mount Union scored three goals in the first quarter before got a man-up goal as the Raiders would take an early 3-1 lead.

Four more goals for the Raiders in the second quarter gave them a 7-1 halftime lead then three straight to start the third extended the lead to 10-1.

Baldwin Wallace (6-6, 1-3 OAC) then scored the final four goals for the 10-5 final.
