Men's Lacrosse: Raiders Beat Washington and Jefferson (Pa.)

ALLIANCE, Ohio—The Mount Union men's lacrosse team defeated Washington and Jefferson (Pa.) in a non-confernece matchup Wednesday night in Alliance.

The Purple Raiders (3-1) were led by Chris Daley (Wilmington, Del./Dupont) and Kyle Adams (St. Catharines, Ontario/St. Francis Catholic) with three goals each.

The Presidents (1-3) were led by Zach Fredericks who has a game-high five goals.

In the first quarter, Washington and Jefferson jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead with the first three minutes of the game. Brent Greenberg (Gaithersburg, Md/Quince Orchard) gave Mount Union its first goal with 5:14 remaining in the quarter. Both teams scored again, but W&J led 3-2 at the end of the first.

The Presidents scored yet again to begin the second quarter, which extended their lead to 4-2. With 1:54 remaining in the half, Hogan Harris (Medina/Medina) tied the game, 4-4, with a goal of his own.  Both teams were even at the end of the half.

Mount Union earned its first lead of the game off a goal by Daley with 13:27 remaining in the quarter. The Raiders would not surrender their lead for the rest of the game. Mount Union finished the game with an 8-5 run to seal the win.

Mount Union is back in action next Wednesday, March 16th, as they host Olivet (Mich.). The game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
