ALLIANCE, Ohio -- Senior Chris Daley (Wilmington, Del./Dupont) set a new Mount Union men's lacrosse career scoring record after recording his 104th goal in the Purple Raiders' 14-6 win over Ohio Athletic Conference opponent Wilmington Saturday afternoon at Mount Union Stadium.

The last career-high scoring record was set at 103 goals by Hogan Harris, who played at Mount Union from 2013-16.

Mount Union improves to 5-2 overall and 1-0 in OAC play, while Wilmington falls to 2-5 and 0-1.

The Purple Raiders were led by junior Brent Greenberg (Gaithersburg, Md./Quince Orchard) and Daley, who scored four goals each in the contest.

Wilmington's Jhordan Lang and Reid Delaney led the Fightin' Quakers with two goals each.

Sophomore Kyle Adams (St. Catharines, Ontario/St. Francis Catholic) got the Raiders on the board 1:16 into the first quarter after he received a pass from Greenberg and fired the ball into the Quakers' goal. Wilmington's Caden Smolenski tied the game at one three and a half minutes later, but a goal by Daley put Mount Union up 2-1 half way through the first quarter.

Daley notched two additional goals in the opening two quarters, while Greenberg recorded two goals and an assist to add to Mount Union's eight first half points. The Raiders led Wilmington 8-2 at halftime.

Mount Union seniors Spencer Cline (Hilliard/Hilliard Davidson) and Derek Thomas (Erie, Pa./McDowell) scored goals less than two minutes apart (7:27, 5:48) in the third quarter to put the Raiders up 10-2, but back-to-back goals by Wilmington cut Mount Union's lead to six, 10-4, with 3:37 left in the third. Greenberg scored two goals in the last 21 seconds to put the Raiders up 12-4 as the teams headed into the final fifteen minutes.

Both teams scored two goals in the final quarter, the last of Mount Union's being recorded by Daley to overtake the exsiting career-high scoring record, resulting in a 14-6 win for the Raiders.

Mount Union hosts Ohio Northern in its next OAC matchup on Saturday, April 1 at 1 p.m. at Mount Union Stadium.
