Men's Lacrosse: Raiders Struck Down by Blue Streaks in Conference Match-Up

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio -- The Mount Union men's lacrosse team faced defeat in an Ohio Athletic Conference match-up against John Carroll University Wednesday night, 17-2. 

Mount Union falls to 5-4 overall and 1-2 in the OAC, while John Carroll improves to 4-4 and 2-0 in conference play. 

The Raiders were outscored 10-1 in the first half of play, with the team's single goal coming from sophomore Anthony Caccivillano (Clarksboro, N.J./Kingsway Regional) with just over five minutes to play in the first quarter. Senior Chris Daley (Wilmington, Del./Dupont) recorded the assist. 

John Carroll scored two goals in the third quarter to take a 12-1 lead over Mount Union. Sophomore Hunter Holt (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) scored with 15 seconds remaining in the game, but five goals by the Blue Streaks in the final period closed the game with a final score of 17-2. 

Mount Union travels to Westerville, Ohio on Saturday, April 8 for a conference game against Otterbein University beginning at 1 p.m.
