Men's Lacrosse: Daley Scores Season-High Five Goals in Win Over Muskingum

NEW CONCORD, Ohio -- Senior Chris Daley (Wilmington, Del./Dupont) scored a season-high five goals in the Mount Union men's lacrosse team's 13-6 win over Ohio Athletic Conference opponent Muskingum University Saturday afternoon. 

Daley led the Purple Raiders (6-6, 2-4 OAC) in scoring and recorded three assists in the win. His single-game scoring record was last set on March 25 when he scored four goals in the Raiders' 14-6 win over Wilmington.

He was followed by junior Brent Greenberg (Gaithersburg, Md./Quince Orchard), who recorded seven points from three goals and four assists. 

Muskingum (4-9, 1-6 OAC) was led by Tucker Haas, who tallied three goals for the Fighting Muskies. 

Mount Union's Kyle Adams (St. Catharines, Ontario/St. Francis Catholic) scored back-to-back goals in the opening minutes of the first quarter to take an early lead over Muskingum. Daley followed with three unanswered goals in less than five minutes to put the Raiders ahead 5-0 with less than three minutes remaining in the quarter. Muskingum's Haas scored a goal in the final minutes to cut the Raiders lead to four at the end of the first quarter. 

Daley recorded his fourth goal of the game in the second quarter, where the Raiders outscored Muskingum 4-0 to take a 9-1 lead at the break. 

The Muskies outscored Mount Union 2-1 in the third period. The Raiders' lone goal came from Daley, his fifth and final goal of the game. 

Greenberg scored two goals in the last fifteen minutes, while Adams scored one to end the game with a 13-6 final score in Mount Union's favor. 

Mount Union next hosts Baldwin Wallace on Wednesday, April 26 in an OAC match-up at Mount Union Stadium, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
