Men's Lacrosse: Mount Union Clipped By Cardinals, 13-7

ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's men's lacrosse team dropped a 13-7 Ohio Athletic Conference game to Otterbein Saturday night at Mount Union Stadium.

The Purple Raiders drop to 4-7 overall and 1-3 in the OAC while Otterbein is now 6-6 overall and 3-1 in the OAC.

Mount Union got three goals from Brent Greenberg (Gaithersburg, Md. / Quince Orchard).

Otterbein was led by Connor Dziewit who had five goals and an assist.

Mount Union scored three goals in the game's first four minutes on scores from Dylan Allen (Centreville, Md. / Queen Anne's County), Hunter Holt (Cranberry Township, Pa. / Seneca Valley) and Seamus McCartin (Centreville, Md. / Queen Anne's County) to take a 3-0 lead. Otterbein then scored three unanswered the last six minutes of the quarter to tie the game at 3-3 after one quarter.

The Cardinals extended their scoring run to five goals and took their first lead of the game with a pair of goals to start the second quarter with 7:48 left in the half. Off the ensuing faceoff, Chris Motter (Hudson) won the faceoff and ran down to score seven seconds later and the Raiders tied the game on a goal by Greenberg with one second left before halftime.

Otterbein retook the lead in the first minute of the third quarter on a goal from Dziewit and Greenberg tied the game again with a score at the 8:33 mark of the third quarter.

Otterbein then scored six straight goals to close out the game.

Mount Union next plays Saturday, April 14 at 1 p.m. at Capital.
