Men's Lacrosse: Raiders Fall in OT at Home

ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's men's lacrosse team suffered an 8-7 overtime loss to Washington & Jefferson Saturday at Mount Union Stadium.

Alex Strain scored the game-winner with just 1:51 left in overtime for Washington & Jefferson (2-3).

Alek Kungle (Hartville / Lake) had four goals to lead the Purple Raiders, who are now 2-3 overall on the season.

Mount Union jumped out to an early 2-0 lead with goals from Jacob Dodd (Ridgley, Md. / North Caroline) and Kungle in the game's first minute but W & J rallied to tie it at 2-2 then Sean O'Loughlin (Hudson) tallied a goal to give Mount Union a 3-2 lead after a quarter.

W & J got two more scores to start the second quarter and take its first lead of the game at 4-3. Alex Bisono (Deer Park, N.Y.) tied the game for the Raiders and both teams traded goals for the game to be tied 5-5 at the half.

W & J scored off the opening face-off of the second half to lead 6-5 and the game stayed at that score until a Presidents goal two minutes into the fourth quarter made it 7-5. Kungle then scored two more times to tie the game.

Mount Union plays its final non-conference game of the season next Saturday at 1 p.m. at Oberlin.
