AUSTINTOWN, Ohio -- Four Mount Union men's lacrosse players in Chris Motter (Hudson), Jake Krone (Hudson), Javin Re (Chantilly, Va.) and Alek Kungle (Hartville / Lake) were named to the All-Ohio Athletic Conference teams selected by the head coaches.
Motter was put on the first team selection as a face-off specialist for a second straight year as the sophomore led the conference and was among the nation's leaders in faceoffs won (172) and faceoff percentage (.748). Motter, who was also OAC Rookie of the Year in 2018, had a team-best 116 ground balls this season.
Krone was second in the conference in saves (179) and save percentage (54.1%) to earn All-OAC second team honors. The senior was also an All-OAC honorable mention selection in 2017.
Re and Kungle were both honorable mention picks. Re started all 15 games as the senior led the team in caused turnovers (28) and second in ground balls (44) while Kungle, an honorable mention selection for a second straight year, led the team in goals (31) and points (38) as a sophomore.
It marked just the second time that Mount Union had four players on the all-conference teams.
The Purple Raiders went 6-9 overall and were sixth in the OAC with a 4-5 record.
