Men's Lacrosse: Mount Union Bitten By Bearcats

LATROBE, Pa. -- Mount Union's men's lacrosse team suffered a 10-7 loss at St. Vincent Saturday in Latrobe, Pa.

Sean O'Loughlin (Hudson) and Logan Gebhart (McDonald, Pa. / Canon-McMillan) each scored two goals while Alek Kungle (Hudson) had a goal and four assists as the Purple Raiders fall to 1-2 on the season.

Zach Novelli and Andrew Coholich each had two goals for St. Vincent (1-1).

Both teams scored twice in the first quarter as the Raiders goals came from Matt Bisono (Deer Park, N.Y.) and Gebhart.

St. Vincent tallied two scores inbetween an O'Loughlin goal in the second quarter and the Bearcats led 4-3 at the break.

Mount Union took its only lead of the game in the opening minutes of the third quarter at 5-3 with goals from O'Loughlin and Logan Addonizio (Wixom, Mich. / Walled Lake Western). St. Vincent scored three of the next four goals, the Raiders score coming from Kungle, to retake the lead 7-6 heading into the final frame.

Gebhart tied the game at 7-7 in the first minute of the fourth quarter but the Raiders rally stopped there as St. Vincent scored three more times for the 10-7 final.

Mount Union next plays Saturday, Feb. 29 at 1 p.m. at Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pa.
