Men's Soccer Tournament Hopes Dashed at Marietta

Mount Union falls to 8-9-1 overall and 1-6-1 in the OAC, while Marietta moves to 6-11-1 overall and at 4-4 in the conference claims a spot in next week's six-team OAC Tournament.

Marietta ran out to a 4-0 lead with four scores in the game's first 35 minutes. 

Deric McDonald started the scoring with a header in the 11th minute.

Ryan Wong scored from 35 yards out in the 29th minute, Kyle Muth got a score in the 34th minute then the barrage ended 1:24 later when Andy Knauff scored on a penalty kick.

Mount Union got on the board in the 67th minute when T.J. Welch (Columbia Station/Columbia) scored off an assist from Tommie McBride (New Waterford/Cardinal Mooney).

Will Jaques finished the scoring for Marietta in the 74th minute.

Mount Union closes out the regular season Saturday night at 7 pm against Heidelberg in Tiffin.
