Mount Union's men's soccer team (3-7-1, 1-3) travels to Columbus to face Capital (5-5-3, 0-3-1) in an Ohio Athletic Conference match, Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
In the OAC standings, the Purple Raiders are currently in eighth with three points, while the Crusaders are in ninth with one point.
The Raiders are coming off a three-game home stand where they went 1-2, with a victory over Marietta (3-0), and losses in their last two matches against Wilmington (3-2, 2 OT's) and John Carroll (2-1).
Freshman Clay Hicks (Leetonia/Cardinal Mooney) leads the Raiders with three goals and seven points. Senior goalkeeper Jon Critell (Youngstown/Cardinal Mooney) is tied for second in the OAC with four shutouts on the season.
The Crusaders are currently on a three match losing streak with losses to Ohio Northern (4-0), Heidelberg (1-0), and Wilmington (2-1 OT).
Last season, the Crusaders earned the number six seed in the OAC tournament and lost in the quarterfinals to Baldwin-Wallace 3-1. Al Argyris leads the team with six goals and 14 points, while his teammate Chris Mir-Salimi has a team leading five assists, which also ranks second in the conference.
The Crusaders have won the last five meetings with the Raiders; including a 4-1 victory in last year's match.
