Men's Soccer Blanks Bethany To Win Mount Union Invitational

ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's men's soccer team blanked Bethany (W.Va.) 1-0 to win the championship game of the Mount Union Invitational Sunday at Mount Union Stadium.

With the win, the Purple Raiders improve to 3-1 on the season, while Bethany falls to 1-4.

Mount Union goalkeeper Alex Bable (Columbiana/Columbiana) had a total of eight saves on the weekend in his back-to-back shutout wins over Defiance and Bethany.
 
Thomas Beck (Poland/Cardinal Mooney) netted his second goal of the season, in the 31st minute for the lone goal of the match.

Mount Union returns to action this coming Wednesday, Sept. 11 hosting St. Vincent (Pa.) at 7:00 pm at Mount Union Stadium.
