KANSAS CITY, Kan. –Senior Chris Felker (Boardman/Cardinal Mooney) was selected to the 2013 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) College Division Men's Scholar All-East Region Honorable Mention announced Sunday, December 15.
Felker a double major in international business and German has a 3.95 GPA. He started in 19 games, netted four goals and finished with eight points finishing third on the team. Felker was an Academic All-OAC selection and was selected to the conference second-team.
This is the first time a Mount Union men's soccer player has been selected to the All-East Region.
The Purple Raiders went 12-9 this season, advanced to the OAC Tournament semifinals and finished third in the conference – the best finish in the conference since 2003 – under first year coach Nick Stirrett.
To qualify for NSCAA consideration, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average, start more than 50 percent of all games and be a significant contributor to the team, be a junior or above in academic standing, and be in their second year at the current school.
