Men's Soccer: Schroeder Scores Game-Winner in Home Opener

ALLIANCE, Ohio -- Mount Union's men's soccer team (2-2) beat Westminster (1-2-1) by a final score of 2-1 in overtime.

The game-winning goal came off the foot of sophomore Jon Schroeder (Parma / Normandy) in the 100th minute.  

After a scoreless first half, Westminster scored the first goal of the game in the 67th minute off the foot of Justin Brandt. The Purple Raiders answered just five minutes later in the 72nd minute with a goal from freshman Ramon Bajeca (Middletown / Middletown) off an assist from senior Stephen Dages (Uniontown / Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary) to make the score 1-1 heading into overtime. 

Mount Union will play again on Wednesday, September 13 at Geneva (PA.)
