Men's Soccer: Schroeder Scores Only Goal of the Game For Win at Wilmington

WILMINGTON, Ohio -- Mount Union advanced their record to 8-6-1 overall and 4-2-1 in the conference  after defeating Wilmington (7-8-2,1-5-1) by a score of 1-0 in an Ohio Athletic Conference battle at Wilmington.

In a first half where neither team could find the back of the net, the Purple Raiders had three shots on goal to the Quakers two while also having five corner kicks to none for the Quakers. The second half was a similar story as Mount had four more shots on goal to the Quakers adding two more. 

In the 73rd minute, Sophomore Jon Schroeder (Parma/Normandy) scored the only goal of the game when the shot went between the legs of Quaker goalkeeper Chris Borque.

Sophomore goalkeeper Zach Hlas (Medina/Medina) faced four shots on goal while playing all 90 minutes in the contest.

The Raiders will stay on the road as they take on John Carroll Wednesday, October 25th at 7 p.m.
