Men’s Soccer: #24 Purple Raiders Move to 7-0 on the Season

WAYNESBURG, Pa.--No. 24 ranked Mount Union men's soccer posted its seventh straight shutout victory with a 1-0 win over Waynesburg (Pa.) Tuesday evening.

Tucker Ramirez (Maumee/Anthony Wayne) netted his first goal of the season while Zach Hlas (Medina) recorded his seventh shutout victory making two saves in the contest. The victory ties the milestone for best start to a season set by the 1985 Mount Union team (7-0).

Waynesburg (Pa.) falls to 3-6 with the loss.

Ramirez scored his first colligate goal in the 56th minute off a Mount Union cross into the box.

The Raider defense has not allowed a goal in 699:58 minutes of play dating back to last year.

Mount Union starts conference play Saturday, September 29 against Otterbein at Mount Union Stadium. Start time is set for 1 p.m.
