Men's Soccer: Raiders Finish Regular Season Undefeated at Home

ALLIANCE, Ohio-- On a rainy day at Mount Union Stadium, Mount Union's men's soccer team defeated Ohio Northern in Ohio Athletic Conference competition 2-0 to end the regular season Saturday, October 27.

Junior Josh Lewis (Elyria) and senior Colton Harsh (Ravenna/Southeast) netted goals in the match while junior Zach Hlas (Medina) recorded his 10th shutout victory of the season.

Lewis broke the scoreless tie in the 75th minute off a short corner kick from junior Jon Schroeder (Parma/Normandy).

Harsh doubled the Purple Raider lead five minutes later to put Mount union ahead 2-0. 

The shutout by Hlas tied the school record for most shutouts in a single season (Matt Krems, 1995).

The victory also marked the first win over Ohio Northern since 2008.

Mount Union concluded the regular season with a 12-3-1 and 5-3-1 record in the OAC while Ohio Northern falls to 11-7-1 and 4-5-0 in the OAC. The Purple Raiders remained perfect during the regular season with an 8-0 record at Mount Union Stadium. The 11 shutout wins this season marks a school record for the program. 

Next up, The Purple Raiders gear up for the OAC tournament as they will host in the first round of the tournament that begins on Tuesday, October 30.
